Odi Mariya
This is the best known prayer to Maria as the mother of Jesus. Many persons pray to Maria, because they feel that they can reach God via Maria. The Surinamese version of the Our Father Prayer is also available.

Odi Mariya,
Furu nanga gnade,
Masra de nanga yu;
Yu nu bresiwan fu den uma,
nanga bresi de na Yesu, a pikin fu yu bere.
Santa Mariya,
Mma fu Gado,
Begi fu wi sonduman, nownow de,
Nanga na un dedeyuru.
Amen.

Full of grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Mother of God,
